High school student Marika is shocked to learn from her mother that her late father was not only a space pirate, but the captain of the notorious pirate ship Benten Maru, and she has inherited his position. Although her only naval experience is as a space yacht club member, her father's former crewmembers are intent that she accept being captain. Other people are interested in her now as well. Soon Marika realizes her life has changed forever.
