In the distant future, earthquakes, and global warming have splintered Japanese society. Most people struggle in jungle-tangled ruins of cities, while some live comfortably in the closed-off city of Atlas, where a few hack the global economy. As nature grows more violent and the class divide expands, a spirited girl, Kuniko, faces her destiny to lead her people into the utopia of Atlas, even if it means fighting its ruthless government and discovering that the dreams of a promised land were built on twisted secrets and lies.
